Kilnwick
Percy retain the Trophy!
Saturday 24th October
The annual mixed friendly
team Trophy is won by the aggregate 4BBB
match-play scores over
both the home and away matches against The KP
Club.
This Saturday despite persistent
rain 6 mixed teams took
on the challenge to overturn the 5 -1 loss in
the away leg, several pairs took their matches
to the 18th hole but only two won giving an
over-all competition loss of 9 to 3.
The KP Club has now won The Trophy 7 out 10 years since this annual
competition was first played in 2000.
Everyone enjoyed the friendly competitive matches and we give warm
thanks to the members of Kilnwick Percy for
their company and hospitality at The KP Club.

Eccles presenting the trophy to the Kilnwick
Percy mixed team representative, Sue.
Better luck to FoG next year!

Friendly Team
finish with a loss 2 - 4 at Heworth but overall
the season has been good!
(Wednesday 19th August)
Overall 4 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats so not too bad a
season, at least we won all our home matches but
were not has good on our travels!
We retained the Aldwark Cup but lost the Andrew Wains
Memorial Cup against Forest Park but i am sure
we will overturn that result next year.
For the first time this year we have played Sandburn Hall
and we are hoping that this will become a
regular home and away fixture from next year.
I would like to thank all those who played and hope
everyone enjoyed the matches which were all
played in a competitive and friendly spirit.
I would like to also thank Paul, Ann and staff for the catering at the
home matches.
Here's to next year and maybe an even better winning
margin.

Scratch Team Report
by Peter Renton
(scratch team captain)
We have had 3
matches in quick succession, two against the
League leaders
York and
Flaxby and one against our closest
rivals
Easingwold.
We were struggling for a team against
York
and many thanks to Mick Collins and Graeme
Elstob for stepping in at short notice.
Unfortunately we went down 4 - 0 but it was a
joy to play at Strensall when it was in such
good condition.
Flaxby
sent a very strong team as they are going for
the League title. Their players had handicaps of
1, 1, 2 and 4 so we were definitely up against it.
Their number one had recently reached the
semi-finals of The Yorkshire Amateur
Championships which shows how strong they were
and they duly beat us 4 - 0.
Easingwold
was a match we felt we could win but they were
considerably strengthened by the inclusion of
Marc Rice at number 1 and that proved to be the
difference as they beat us 2
½
to 1½. This was disappointing as they will now
probably finish just above us in the League
table.
With
one game left we are at Sandburn Hall and Flaxby
only have Aldwark to play so it is likely they
will get maximum points and we will have to play
our very best to get near Sandburn who are
currently 3rd in the League with an outside
chance of promotion.
