Junior Coaching 2011

As you may already know we are going into 12 local schools this year in an effort to increase junior golf at Forest of Galtres, as a result we have been awarded a regional Tri-Golf inter school final on 7^th April.  It is a culmination of many qualifying rounds and there will be children from all around our region attending.

I am hoping that our schools programme will swell junior membership and increase junior coaching numbers, if so we may need your help!

There are a number of members who expressed a wish to help out our junior coaching this year, the minimum requirement is for a helper to be CRB checked and go on a Safeguarding Children course.  If you are already CRB checked and would like to go on the course there is one at York St. John’s in March, please give me a call for more details.

Attached below is the junior email we sent out to parents informing them of our junior coaching.  It has all date and price details so if you know any children that are interested in coming for weekend coaching please get in touch.

Winter Lessons

Anyone who bought lessons on the ‘Winter Deal’ last October will know that there is only a month to get your lessons in before they expire.  We are in for a busy March so time is getting limited with schools coaching, and individual lessons being booked up every day.  I would urge anyone who has lessons owing to give me a call to book some in.  To help out a bit I am extending the expiry date until Saturday 15^th April, please note my day off is now on a Monday but I am here every other day.

Hi there,

This year we are hoping to promote junior golf at Forest of Galtres in a big way.  We will be teaching in all of our local primary schools and running junior lessons at the club on a weekend.  Initially we will be running a group lesson on Saturday mornings between 10am and 11am, but we can add on extra lessons on Saturday or Sunday mornings if there is demand.  As we are keeping group sizes to a maximum of 8 children, spaces may become limited so please book early.  Please see below for dates, times and prices for lessons until summer.

Here are the dates for this year’s Junior Coaching on a Saturday between 10am and 11am:

19^th March – 9^th April        (4 lessons)            

30^th April – 28^th May         (5 lessons)

11^th June – 23^rd July         (7 lessons)

Lessons will cost £2 per week or you can save money by paying for a term.  We will be covering all aspects of golf including playing on the course and rules and etiquette.
